It is another week of Anime Suggestion Suggestion, and this week we will be looking at Rozen Maiden. If you missed last weeks, it is located here.

Several living dolls participate in a something called the Alice Games, which is a competition to find out who will be Alice -- the perfect doll with no flaws and is angelic -- and will be reunited with their creator. However, before the actual plot, we were introduced to boy, named Sakurada Jun. This boy is reluctant to go to school, because of some issues that ended up causing him some trauma, and now is just living his days locked in his room. Jun gets a random letter saying whether he will wind it or not -- which was a very vague question -- he just answers yes and out appears a case with a doll in it.

The main reason I decided to rewatch this was the new season that is coming soon. However, the series still holds up as a nice mix of comedy, drama, and fantasy. Rozen Maiden is kind of like a logarithmic curve of plot, it is fairly slow at first, but builds the characters up, in both a drama and comedic sense. Then wraps with all the Alice Game action that is very shounen-esque. If any of these thing catches your eye -- or you want to get up to speed on the story, before the new Rozen Maiden season -- Rozen Maiden is something you want to check out.
