Yet another week of Anime Suggestion Sunday, today we will be looking at the anime Hotarubi no Mori e. If you missed last weeks, that is located here.
There is nothing like summer love, at least that is what Hotarubi no Mori e feels like. The story is focused on Takegawa Hotaru, a girl who get lost in a forest, near her grandfathers house -- who she is visiting during summer. She meets a boy, name Gin, who is actually a spirit of the forest, and he helps her find the way out. Soon Hotaru is visiting the forest every summer, just to meet Gin, and slowly develops a relationship; with it come a desire, that grows strong each year, a desire to touch each other. However since Gin can't be touched by humans -- because he will disappear -- the yearning to feel each others warmth still grew, making them feel a lot more distant, despite being so close.
Hotarubi no Mori e is one of the bitter sweet romances that, all though short, really captures a romance that started from a young age and only becomes stronger, as more time goes on, making it sadder when things conclude. Really, this one is for those looking for a short and well put together romance, with well believable characters, that have great chemistry together.
