Back again with another season of first impressions, if you missed the previous season, it is found here. Also if you haven't voted for whether you want to see my first impressions broken up into separated posts for each anime, that is here. And without further adieu, lets get to those first impressions.

RDG: Red Data Girl

Red Data Girl

After living a sheltered life in a shine deep in the Kumano mountains, Suzuhara Izumiko decides to take a step into changing herself. After many mishaps of unintentionally break technology around her, due to inexperience with her power over said technology, she is reacquainted with Sagara Miyuki, her once childhood "friend". Miyuki was force to transfer to Izumiko's school to become her guardian and he isn't too fond of this sheltered little girl.

There is a lot of setup in this episode, so I can't judge the anime too much. However, as of right now, I'm really curious in seeing what Izumiko's powers are capable of with training. Also, how the relationship between the shy princess and stubborn protector will develop. As RDG stands right now, I'm very interesting in the future episode and hope to see a good fantasy and backstory, out of this anime.

Date A Live

Date a Live

Spacequakes are occurring quite often, and no one seems to know why. Until Istuka Shido stumbles upon a girl, who is a creature, called a Spirit, causing these spacequakes to happen when she lands. With that, he also finds out his sister-in-law is the commander of the anti-spirit organization, Ratatosk, and will now be recruited to help in the capture of said sprite.

As of right now, I'm not that impressed with this at all. It's playfulness, in the beginning, disappears as the anime setup up the main plot of spirits and the organization formed to stop them. So really I've got nothing else to say, but I will give it the three episode try and hope it gets better for me.

Dansai Bunri No Crime Edge

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge

We met a boy, named Haimura Kiri, who is obsessed with cutting people's hair, especially if it is long. He then meets a girl, Mushiyanokouji Iwai, who has extremely long hair, mainly because she is a "Hair Queen" who's hair can not be cut. However, we quickly find out the scissors Kiri carries on his person, the Dansai Bunri No Crime Edge, is a Killing Good that can cut Iwai's hair.

This anime slowly grew on me. With it's main character, Kiri, having an obsession that is nearly sexual to him, which is a very strange attribute for him to have. Also the way that the first episode ended, it felt like a setup for survival games, which makes me even more excited. So this is probably something I will be watching through out the season and I'm happy to see more survival games popping up ever now and then.

Photo Kano

Photo-Kano

Maeda Kazuya is an easy going guy, that has recently picked up photography thanks to his father giving him one of his older cameras. With this cameras he ends up meeting some rather interesting characters in Photography Club and Photo club, that want him to join their club.

Since this is an anime about photos, I see a ton of stylized shots and angles that are very borderline erotic. Because of that, it has an interesting way of walking the line of overly sexual and artistic, and I dig that. As for the anime itself, I'm interesting in seeing what happens, but really nothing actually happened until the end.

Aku No Hana

Aku no Hana

A boy, named Kasuga Takao, is infatuated with miss top of her grade, Saeki Nanako. Takao watches her from a distance and isn't that confident of the person. Forgetting his book, Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal, in the classroom, he goes back to retrieve it and finds Nanako's gym clothes laying on the ground.

Right off the bat there is the controversy of the animation style. I would say it is pretty hard to get use to, but I think it is livable. Plus because of the genre being physiological horror, I can see why they would want real-ish reactions, rather than the more common place "moe-style" that people so often turn to for anime.

This episode is a whole bunch of build up, we barely get introduced to the characters, but because it is a anime this season I've been looking forward to, I'm going to give it some slack and hope is get interesting soon. So far I'm more interested in seeing where this ride takes me, but first episode wasn't all that exciting.

Yahari Ore No Seishun Love Come Wa Machigatteiru.

Oregairu

Antisocial high school student, Hikigaya Haciman has a shallow view of what school life and youth is. With his lack of motivation to do anything, one of the teachers forced him to join the Volunteer Service Club, where he meets Yukinoshita Yukino. Yukino is also pretty antisocial, mainly because boys only really want to be with her romantically and girls are jealous of her.

I got the vibe of Medaka Box, but without the abnormality powers, mixed in with last seasons Ore No Kanojo To Osananajimi Ga Shuraba. With most of the main characters being about antisocial, this going to be right up my ally, even if, like most romcoms, the ending will be easily predicted. I'm already hooked to this anime after one episode and hope it continues to be a fun to watch.

Ore No Imouto Ga Konna Ni Kawaii Wake Ga Nai. 2

OreImo

Second season of Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai, and we are back will our secret otaku, Kousaka Kirino. After returning from America, her brother, Kousaka Kyousuke, feels a bit sad that their relationship hasn't change as much after the initial life advice lesson from the first season. However, Kyousuke will still continue to protect his precious sister, even if she treats him like shit.

Back with another series of OreImo, and my hatred for tsuderes is re-ignited with the return of Kirino. With this being probably the most anticipated anime of this season, for most people at least, it's a bit strange coming back into this series after about two year and nearly forgetting the first season. I'll hold the real judgement for later, but I'm not impressed with the return of a new season; it just feels like we are started a new episode rather than a season.

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Bride

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Bride

After defeating Amakusa Shirou, the Samurai Ladies have resorted to making the dojo into a maid cafe, in order to make money to fund the dojo. However, with the return of Yagyuu Muneakira, dark samurai have appeared and are looking for Yagyuu Juubei, who isn't around anymore after sacrificing herself in last seasons final battle.

The black paint splattering is back in action with the return of Yagyuu Muneakira, from his journey to improve himself. So far, this feels really familiar, even if I haven't watched this series in years. And the comedy and ecchi is very welcoming in the return of the series. I feel like this is just going to be a fun series for me, I'm not saying it's going to be great or horrible, just a decent anime that I can relax to and watch every now and then.

Hataraku Maou-sama!

Hataraku Maou-sama

After being defeated by the hero Emilia, demon king Sadao, and his general, Shirou, get thrown into modern Japan from a portal. Because the magic they have is limit, in this world, they have to adapt to societal rules, and survive with the goal of conquering this world.

It was such a weird contrast from the dark, gritty, action focus beginning and then transitioning to a lighter, more slice-of-life anime with some fantasy elements. With that being said, as of right know, I'm liking it. I was first going to avoid it because I was thinking I've had enough of the Demon King focused anime, but looking at the laundry list of romcoms I watch, I kind of feel like a hypocrite.

So as of right now, I'm enjoying the comedy every now and then, but also the secrecy of keeping his magic powers to a minimum until they find a way to restore their magic regularly.

Shingeki No Kyojin

Attack on Titan

Giants run wild eating humans, almost to point of wiping out the human race. As a counter measure, humans made cities inside tall walls to stay protected from the giants. Thinking they were safe, many shamed those who wished to explore outside the walls, and were deemed foolish. Soon enough, a titan taller than the walls protecting mankind, broke through and panic spread as human got eaten left to right.

This is probably the prettiest anime this season, and yet one of the darkest of stories. So far, I'm already hooked the idea of caged cities, where people live in fear of titans. Reminds me of Shinsekai Yori, only it is an external problem rather than internal. If the series stays as good as this first episode, I think that this is going to be people favorite anime this season, and mine as well, but only time will tell.
