I was pretty curious about Space☆Dandy when I heard that it was going to be airing dubbed and subbed at the same time. However, even with that initial curiosity, I didn't really know what to expect because all I'm going off of is that fact that this anime is doing something that hasn't been done. And really this first episode wasn't that appealing to me.
To start, it was an episode that was all over the place and its lack in focus made my interest level dropped pretty quickly. At first Dandy was on this tirade of how much he loves the booty, and that made me pretty excited because I had something to agree with about character on, right from the start. However, as the episode went on it was a mix of some kind of story of Dandy getting chased, him looking for a type of alien, and the humor that Dandy himself seems to introduce. Really with just this one episode I would simply say that it wasn't for me because I'm sure there are people that would enjoy the type of humor Space Dandy brings.
I can't really say where this anime is going for sure, so I'm going to continue watching it, but based on the comedy style I don't think it will have me around very long if there isn't a story to speak of. I do want to see where this experiment of releasing dub and sub simultaneously goes, so at the very least I will keep watching until episode three.
