I can barely remember the previous season, but Senki Zesshou Symphogear G seems to be starting on good footing.
Despite not remembering much from the series, I do -- strangely enough -- remember most of the characters fairly well; and saying that, I found it pretty odd to see Chris getting along so well with Hibiki, but new season means new beginning really. And we do get into something familiar right from the start, which is these two -- Hibiki and Chris -- fighting a buttload of Noises with relative easy.
The only reason I would say this episode started on good footing, was from the duet with Tsubasa and Maria onward. For something that is a fairly generic spin on the magical girl genre, the anime comes all out with some great sounding songs. As for the other thing, that made me enjoy the episode was, of course the big reveal of Maria being an antagonist, and she is able to somehow control the Noise, is pretty interesting to me.
I'll see where this anime takes me, but I doubt that it will stay that decent for long. And as a small side note, I've been thinking that this would be a type of show Disney would think up, if there wasn't as much violence, singing while fighting.
