The re-imagined, and more modern day adaption to Rozen Maiden, and man did this episode traveled at light fucking speed.
I have watched the previous seasons of Rozen Maiden, and this first episode was even confusing to me, so I could imagine how much more of a head scratcher this one was for people not seasoned with the series. It basically when through about a three quarters of Rozen Maiden: Traumend in twenty minutes.
The fact that they barely introduced any of the characters at all, before they killed off two, was the strangest thing in the world. I understand wanting to get past all the fluff, but this was probably one of the worst ways to do it. It was basically "hello, I'm x number doll, oh time to fight, now I'm dead".
The only good thing I can say about this adaption of Rozen Maiden is, I like that they got all the original voice actors, of the previous versions, in this one. Really, I'm not sure how they could screw the first episode up and create this soup of information with no real meaning. I do hope for it to get better, but the first episode is probably one of the worst this season.
