Summary: The continuation of the first season of Gin no Saji. Heading into the Fall season and there are some changes happening in Yezo High. The third years are getting ready to apply for jobs or colleges and a new president and vice president are being selected for the equestrian club; and Hachiken ends up becoming the vice president? There is also some trouble brewing between Mikage and Komaba, and Hachiken want to get to the bottom of this.

My most anticipated anime for this season has arrived and I'm pretty excited to see what this season has to offer. So by the end of Silver Spoon's first season my biggest, and only, complaint about the series was the rather lacking detail of problems being faced by the characters. It felt like there was a lot of hinting at the problems, but Silver Spoon never really attempted to resolved any. So right on the first episode, it seems like the anime is setting up to pick up the pieces they left scattered on the floor -- starting with one between Mikage and Komaba.

In the spirit of baseball, Silver Spoon came out swinging with this scene between Mikage and Komaba. There isn't much detail coming up between the two but most can assume that probably Mikage got rejected or there is some kind of arranged marriage happening; there is also a possibility of a death in the family, and I'm almost convinced that the more obvious one is what they want you to think but it ends up being an entirely different conclusion. Either way, with Mikage's keep it to herself attitude, it isn't going to be easy for Hachiken to figure out what is going on.

Not going to lie, I've been assuming that Mikage and Hachiken would eventually get together and that is the wonderful misconception that got engraved into my mind after spending many years watching anime. Maybe there is something going on that Hachiken will eventually be brought into the light about, but right now it is just a hint and I'm glad that Silver Spoon started right here with no delay.

The other thing that a certain main character is facing is Hachiken becoming the Vice President of Equestrian Club. Back in the first season we establish that Hachiken can lead people with that pizza party he threw with the help of many of the students that had different specialities. So now that Hachiken has a position of leadership, he will most likely be able to develop his skill in leading people; and that could help him in the long run with dealing with people with ease, and eventually it could be possible that we can see some progression of his problems with parents.

This is probably one of the bigger mysteries that only got hinted at in the first season and the more compelling to pursue. However, in the style of this anime, it seems they will focus on one problem at a time; so right now, the current one on the forefront is developing between Mikage and Komaba, and is most likely take the wheel in this season.

With all that detail out of the way, what are my thought of this first episode? Well with the second season going head first into my only issue with the first season, I say it is a win for me. Right now the second season of Silver Spoon really feels like a continuation of where the first season left off; no summaries, no extra long introduction, we just hopped right into the anime like it didn't have a season break, but I like that. The fact that this is probably only going to be eleven episodes, like the last season, I say it need to utilize as much time as it possible can. So I'm obviously curious to see what happens next and will be continuing without any second thought.
