Arpeggio of Blue Steel - First Impressions

Before I even got to watch Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova, I notice that there were complaints about it's "horrible" CG, and I began to see flashbacks of Aku no Hana all over again. I guess I'm more lenient on art styles when it comes to anime, because after watching, I didn't really think it was that bad. Sure there are some points to be made that most of the characters movement being rather robotic -- kind of reminds me of RWBY -- but thats a factor I personally can get over.

As far as substance, I'm liking it so far, even with the rather slow start it is taking. The fact that humanity is stuck sea bound because of an enemy called the Fog feels almost like space -- but with a spin of it being on earth -- is something that interests me. I can see this whole Gunzo being a traitor to humanity and Iora is a traitor to the Fog, play a part in the story later on; and having two enemies makes things a bit less of a two-sided conflict, which is always nice.

In the end, it really bothers me when people focus so heavily on ONE aspect of a show, and immediately case it off as garbage. To me, this show might end up being another good anime that fails because of experimental art styles like Aku no Hana was -- and I really hate to see that happen to another anime, basically discouraging risk taking.
