Another week of Anime Suggestion Sunday is upon us, and this week we are look at Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom. If you missed last weeks, it is located here.
Kill or be killed, it is the main motivation for someone that woke up in an unfamiliar place and no memories, all he has to go by is his base instincts. Zwei is the name he was given, and his job is to train to be an assassin for an American organization, called Inferno. With Ein, his partner and best assassin in the organization, he quickly becomes a tool for killing, as both are ghosts with no place to go -- phantoms.
Phantom really focuses on making believable characters, who are operating inside of a dark, cruel world. It is one of those anime that can make a character both a badass and really sad -- for how they live there life of killing -- while making it not feel like it is dumbed down, to appeal to a wider audience. This one is for people that like a lot of action and blood, as well as ones that want some drama and an anime with a focus on character development.
